In 1974, WAR were at the height of their powers — a genre-defying force blending jazz, soul, funk, and Latin rhythms into something entirely their own. Following an extensive run of shows across the US and Europe, the band made their first-ever trip to Japan, performing in Shizuoka, Tokyo, Osaka, and Kobe. Those historic performances have now been rediscovered and meticulously restored, captured on Live In Japan 1974, released through Rhino Records.

What makes this release truly remarkable is that it marks the first live album in 50 years to feature all seven original members of WAR together. The nearly two-hour setlist was carefully assembled by producers Jerry Goldstein, Lonnie Jordan, and Jeremy Levine, offering an authentic snapshot of the band at a defining moment in their career.
